Notice of decision
The applicant receives the status, reasons and every failed criterion with its evidence reference.
- 02Within 30 days
Appeal filed
A written appeal with new evidence or a challenge to a criterion result. Filing pauses no protective flag.
- 03Within 20 working days
Independent review
Two committee members who did not sit on the original decision review the case with a fresh reviewer.
- 04Within 5 working days of review
Decision and publication
The outcome is recorded in the status register with reasons. A reversed decision creates a new passport version.
